Verivue MDX 9020

The MDX 9020 Media Distribution Switch provides a compact content delivery and storage network platform to support the need for multi-screen content delivery. Providing the performance of ten times existing PC based solutions, the MDX 9020 is a reliable, purpose built switch which equally supports the needs of content delivery for both broadband and traditional VOD streaming applications.

The MDX 9020 is designed to operate as either a centralized or a distributed content delivery platform, offering significant flexibility for service operators' network requirements. As an edge node, the MDX 9020 may transparently communicate with other MDX platforms providing a virtual delivery platform within the operator's network. This allows operators to deploy content streaming and caching capacity anywhere within their network, expanding as their service delivery requires.

Similar to its MDX 9200 sibling platform, the MDX 9020 offers significant advantages to content service operators. Those advantages include:

• HTTP and VOD/UDP streaming and delivery protocol support, providing Seamless Multi-Screen Convergence.
• Reduced operational overhead by transparently managing the complexities and tradeoffs between network transport capacity and edge caching storage through Verivue's Intelligent Content Distribution.
• A patent-pending integrated solid-state storage sub-system, VueStor, which provides unparalleled content delivery and ingest bandwidth, in a network switch. A dramatic improvement over the capabilities of existing solid-state storage drives (SSDs).

Designed around a compact, high-density 3-RU platform, the MDX 9020 merges solid-state flash memory, networking and delivery functions into a single platform. This multi-purpose design collapses racks of storage, servers and switches into a single platform. These features include:

The Verivue MDX 9000 Series of switches are all based on the same modular architecture. This provides not only complete delivery and application compatibility between platforms but provides investment protection for Verivue customers. As storage capacity and underlying bandwidth requirements change within a service network, modules may be migrated from an MDX 9200 to a MDX 9020, and vice versa reducing capital costs.
